On Friday, September 15 at R.Premadasa Stadium in Colombo, the final Super 4 match of the Asia Cup 2023 will pit India vs. Bangladesh.
After choosing to bat first, Bangladesh was invited to do so by Indian captain Rohit Sharma. In response, the team captained by Shakib Al Hasan posted a respectable total of 265/8 in the stipulated 50 overs, with their captain setting the tone with his innings of 80 (85).
In response, India didn’t have the best of starts as Tilak Varma (5 off 9) and Rohit (0 off 2) left the game early. Shubman Gill, on the other hand, managed to hold one end while advancing the innings with his magnificent half-century. The 24-year-old celebrated the occasion in grand fashion by launching Mahedi Hasan over the deep wicket boundary in the 20th over after dancing down the track against him.
The ball sounded lovely as it left Gill’s bat and soared high into the night sky. After taking some early hits, the opener stabilised the Indian innings by reaching his fifty in 61 balls.
