On Monday, June 5, it looked like India player Washington Sundar‘s Twitter account had been hacked. A post with links to cryptocurrencies was sent out.
Notably, this is not the first time that someone has broken into a social media account. The India Premier League team Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) had its Twitter account hacked twice, in September 2021 and January 2023.
This year, RCB ended up tweeting about the NFT on the franchise’s account. The hacker changed the profile picture and name to “Bored Ape Yacht Club” and sent out tweets about NFT, which other NFT users then shared.
In 2022, a Bitcoin hacker also broke into the account of Indian all-rounder Krunal Pandya. One of the tweets from the account that had been hacked said that the account was for sale for bitcoins.
Sundar gets hurt and skips a lot of the IPL 2023 season.
Washington Sundar plays for Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), who won the IPL in 2016. The Aiden Markram-led team had a terrible year. With only eight points, they were at the bottom of the points table. He had to drop out of the 16th season of the Rich League because he hurt his hamstring, which took him a lot of time. The 23-year-old bowler and all-arounder only took three wickets for SRH in seven games, with an average of 48.66 and an economy rate of 8.26.
With the bat, he got 60 runs in seven innings, with an average of 15.00 and a strike rate of 100.00. The player from Tamil Nadu had also been hurt during the previous IPL season. His throwing hand had split webbing. The all-rounder has also missed a lot of games for the Indian national men’s cricket team because he keeps getting hurt.
