For the second time in a row, the World Championship of Legends (WCL) 2025 clash between India’s Champions and Pakistan’s Champions has been cancelled. They were scheduled to face off in the first semi-final on Thursday, July 31 at Edgbaston Stadium in Birmingham. However, that encounter will not occur.
The first league match between India’s and Pakistan was slated for July 20.
However, because to political tensions between the two countries, numerous Indian players have decided to boycott the match. The match was called off, and both teams received one point.
However, the organisers stated on the eve of semi-final 1 that Pakistan would advance when India decided not to participate in the knockout stage. While they recognised India’s position, they also valued Pakistan’s readiness to compete.
“WCL has always believed in the potential of sport to inspire and effect positive change in the world. However, public sentiment must always be respected; after all, everything we do serves our audience. We appreciate the India Champions’ choice to withdraw from the semi-finals, and we also respect the Pakistan Champions’ willingness to compete,” the organisers said in an official statement.
