The 16th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is generating the most anticipation yet as the T20 spectacle prepares to engulf the cricketing community. While it will be played in the traditional “home and away” format for the first time since 2019, the upcoming season is anticipated to bring the old IPL atmosphere back.
The tournament will officially kick off on March 31 at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad with an inaugural ceremony before the curtain-raiser game between the Gujarat Titans and Chennai Super Kings. The opening ceremony will start at 6:00 PM IST, while the game is scheduled to start at 7:30 PM.

The BCCI cancelled the celebration in 2019 to honor the soldiers slain in the Pulwama tragedy in February 2019, and the pandemic limitations from 2020–2022 prevented such a large gathering. As a result, it will be the first IPL opening ceremony held since 2018.
