In Match 7 of the Indian Premier League 2024 (IPL 2024) on Tuesday, March 26 at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) defeated Gujarat Titans (GT) by a score of runs, extending their winning streak. Chennai, who were batting first, amassed a huge 206/6 thanks to a half-century from Shivam Dube (51 off 23).

Rachin Ravindra and captain Ruturaj Gaikwad, who combined to score 62 runs for the first wicket off 32 balls, made significant contributions as well (46 off 36 balls). Sai Sudharsan top-scored with 37 (31) while GT were only able to reach 143/8 in the 20 overs that were given in response. Except for him, no other batter was able to score more than 21 runs as a result for GT’s batting collapse. For CSK, Deepak Chahar (2/28), Mustafizur Rahman (2/30), and Tushar Deshpande (2/21) each claimed two wickets.

1. CSK takes off thanks to the leadership of Rachin Ravindra

Following up on his performance in the first game against RCB, the 24-year-old once again came out firing. Ravindra attacked the GT bowlers, ruthlessly destroying them all over the pitch and finishing his innings with six fours and three sixes for 46 off just 20 balls.

2. Sameer Rizvi makes a spectacular debut in the IPL 2024

The 20-year-old hit Rashid Khan for a maximum over deep square leg in the penultimate over of the innings, announcing his entrance in the IPL in grand fashion. On the final ball of the over, he proceeded to hit him for a maximum over by coming down the track. Finally, on 14 (6), Rizvi was out, enabling CSK to surpass 200 runs.

3. Behind the stumps, MS Dhoni puts on a show.

With a fantastic diving catch by Vijay Shankar, the famous wicketkeeper turned back time and demonstrated his exceptional mobility behind the stumps. Daryl Mitchell was to blame when Vijay Shankar edged one to Dhoni in the eighth over of the second inning. With a swift movement to his right, the 42-year-old stunned everyone by diving the entire length of his body.
