On April 19, at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow, the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) will square off in Match 34 of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2024). KL Rahul, the captain of the LSG, won the toss and chose to field first.
Leading team CSK, captained by Ruturaj Gaikwad, recently defeated archrivals Mumbai Indians (MI) by a commanding 20 runs in their match. For the match against Lucknow, CSK will make a few changes to their playing XI, leaving out Shardul Thakur and Daryl Mitchell. Moeen Ali steps in for the Kiwi, and Deepak Chahar, who wasn’t present for the previous game against Hardik Pandya’s team, takes Thakur’s place.
“We’d have taken the first pitch. The last game, we batted first and did a good job at it. (Win over MI): A strong boost to self-assurance. It gives us a great boost to go there and defend. We don’t wish to become comfortable. Our goal is to maintain maximum consistency. It was unfortunate to be dismissed in the first two matches, but a little fortunate when batting. It feels fantastic to be back and to be moving. Everybody exudes confidence. two modifications. “Deepak comes in for Shardul, and Mo comes in for Mitchell,” Gaikwad declared during the toss.

LSG, on the other hand, has just suffered two straight losses. In their lineup for their match against CSK, they have added New Zealand bowler Matt Henry in lieu of Shamar Joseph, the West Indian. During LSG’s group encounter against Kolkata Knight Riders, Joseph had a challenging IPL debut, conceding 47 runs in his allotted run score without taking any wickets. Though inconsistent and prone to throwing away opportunities—he lost two catches off his bowling—he has shown promise.
