At Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Monday, the Mumbai Indians (MI) took on the self-assured Rajasthan Royals (RR) in Indian Premier League (IPL 2024) Match 14. After winning the toss, RR elected to bowl, and in the opening over, Trent Boult struck like lightning, getting rid of Rohit Sharma for a duck. Avesh Khan, Nandre Burger, and Yuzvendra Chahal each claimed three, two, and one wicket. The Mumbai Indians struggled as their wickets went quickly, limiting them to 125/9 in the 20 overs that were allowed.
Following the performance of their bowlers in the first inning, the Rajasthan Royals were optimistic. When RR plays the Mumbai Indians, Jos Buttler and Yashasvi Jaiswal lead the assault. Kwena Mphaka and Akash Madhwal removed the RR openers from the game too soon. Akash Madhwal outscored Captain Sanju Samson of the Mumbai Indians by just 12 runs. The Rajasthan Royals won their third straight game of the season thanks to an incredible 54 off 39 balls from Riyan Parag.
