IPL 2024 Qualifying Scenarios: How can Punjab Kings, who lost to RR, make it to the playoffs?

At the recently constructed Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur, the Rajasthan Royals traveled to Chandigarh to play the 2014 Indian Premier League (IPL)  finalists, the Punjab Kings (PBKS). The hosts were obliged to bat first after the Rajasthan Royals chose to bowl first on a challenging pitch. The Punjab Kings could only muster 147 points, so it proved to be an excellent choice.

The middle-order batsmen’s brief appearances combined with a potent opening partnership carried the Rajasthan Royals to the crucial victory as they struggled to chase it down. This is the Royals’ fifth victory of the year, and they appear well-positioned to make it to the Indian Premier League playoffs.

In the meantime, the Punjab Kings are having a terrible season thus far; in six Indian Premier League 2024 games, this is their fourth defeat. They are going to have a busy schedule for the tournament, so they have work ahead of them. The team hardly ever makes it into the playoffs, and it appears that this year will be no different.

This following week, the Punjab-based team will play the two-time finalists, the Gujarat Titans, after their game against the Mumbai Indians. Then, they will play the two-time winners, the Kolkata Knight Riders. For a chance to make it into this year’s playoffs, they would be looking for victory by sizable margins in both games.
