The Indian Premier League (IPL 2024) match featured a decision by Faf du Plessis to bat first after winning the toss, giving Pat Cummins something to consider. In addition to eliminating RCB from the prestigious event, the home club hopes to win the match and move up to second place in the standings.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru fielded the same team that had fallen short against KKR by one run. In contrast, Sunrisers Hyderabad made just one change from their previous game against the Delhi Capitals: Jaydev Unadkat replaced Washington Sundar.
RCB: in 4.2 overs, 50 runs
With a brilliant start, the RCB openers gave Sunrisers Hyderabad a taste of their own medicine. Pat Cummins got T Natarajan, who dismissed Faf Du Plessis for 25, just when it appeared like the game was slipping away from him.
RCB: 61/1 (6 overs) in the powerplay
The RCB batsmen appeared to have been restrained after gaining momentum with the removal of Faf Du Plessis. In an attempt to demonstrate his recent good form, Virat Kohli took a few food shots as the RCB hitters looked to score a big run.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru: 84/2 from 9 overs at the first strategic time-out
The RCB hitting unit appeared to slow down their explosive scoring after spin was introduced. At the cost of just six runs, Shahbaz Ahmed claimed the crucial wicket of Will Jacks. To set the tone, Rajat Patidar made a couple of well-placed strokes to start the match.
100 runs from 10.2 overs for Royal Challengers Bengaluru
Rajat Patidar launched an attack as soon as the intermission ended. As RCB sent a message to the SRH bowlers, Mayank Markande was smacked for four sixes in four balls.
Rajat Patidar, half a century, from 19 balls
Supporters of the RCB were happy to see Rajat Patidar back at his best. The 30-year-old hit his fifth IPL fifty in the last three games, showing glimmers of his previous form with the bat.

Virat Kohli: fifty-seven runs in 37 balls
Throughout the IPL 2024 season, Virat Kohli, the former captain of the Royal Bengal Tigers, is the only hitter who has shown consistency. Before settling in to score his 53rd fifty of the tournament, the 35-year-old started off with his signature wristy strokes.
2nd Strategic Timeout for RCB (136/3 from 14 overs)
Rajat Patidar flayed the bowlers to all corners of the stadium to an enthusiastic audience in Hyderabad. Before Cameron Green and Virat Kohli came, Jaydev Unadkat, who is playing in his 100th IPL match, took the wicket.
In 15.4 overs, RCB scored 150 runs.
After Jaydev Unadkat trapped Virat Kohli for 51 with a slower bouncer, Abdul Samad, the RCB was dealt a severe blow. With two fours from Cameron Green against Pat Cummins, the score was over 150 with four overs remaining.
In 18.1 overs, RCB scored 200 runs.
The Impact player, Swapnil Singh, reached the 200 mark on the first ball of the 19th over when he struck T Natarajan for a massive six. This was Bengaluru’s third 200+ total in a row for the current season.
At the end of the inning, the RCB scored 206/7 (20 overs) in total.
When it came to bowling, SRH appeared to have lost the plot with the ball early on. But Unadkat’s outstanding performance (3/30 from 4 overs) allowed the home team to get back into the contest.
