In a thrilling match between Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), records were broken as SRH hit the most sixes in an inning. The Indian Premier League (IPL 2024) is currently underway. The match took place at the crowded M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, where the top-order batsmen for SRH unleashed a barrage of boundaries and towering sixes that left the opposition reeling and the crowd in a frenzy.
SRH maintained their aggressive strategy after being asked to bat first, as openers Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma attacked the RCB bowlers nonstop right away. With eight maximums from Centurion Head and seven from Heinrich Klaasen, SRH destroyed an incredible 22 records. The innings also featured a total of 19 boundaries, demonstrating the 2016 champions’ dominance in the ongoing competition.
Before, during the game against the now-defunct Pune Warriors India in 2013 at the same venue, RCB had the record for most sixes in an inning with 21. A total of 20 sixes were hit in a single inning in three different matches that were tied for third place. These games took place in 2016 between RCB and GL, in 2017 between RCB and GL once more, and in 2024 between MI and SRH.
By scoring the most points in a single innings, SRH creates a new IPL record.
When Sunrisers Hyderabad played Royal Challengers Bengaluru on Monday, April 15, they shattered their own record by scoring the most runs in a single inning. They scored 287 runs, more than their previous best of 277 runs against the Mumbai Indians in the current Indian Premier League.
