IPL 2024: Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) played a thrilling Indian Premier League game at Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi Stadium. In a situation where both captains desired to bat first, the LSG captain was fortunate enough to win the toss and decide to bat first against the hosts. Ayush Badoni and Nicholas Pooran, who scored 55 (30) and 48 (26), respectively, were the sole scorers for LSG.
Under a thunderstorm, the SRH openers were once again dominant as Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma amassed 166 runs in only 9.4 overs—all without losing a wicket. In only 19 and 16 balls, Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head each reached their second-fastest fifty of the year.
The first team in IPL history to chase down a total of 160+ in less than ten overs was Sunrisers Hyderabad. After winning on Wednesday against the Lucknow Super Giants, SRH moved up to third place in the standings. During the post-match presentation, LSG captain KL Rahul said, “I am at a loss for words; this is unbelievable batting.”
1. SRH openers’ incredible batting
The way that Sunrisers Hyderabad’s opening duo of Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head handled the Lucknow Super Giants on Wednesday was incredible. With 10 wickets against the Giants in just 9.4 overs, they both guided their team to victory. SRH became the first team in IPL history to chase down a target of more than 160 runs in less than ten overs.

2. The spell performed by Bhuvaneshwar Kumar
The star bowler for the SRH team thus far has been playing exceptionally well. In his four overs against the Lucknow Super Giants at Rajiv Gandhi Stadium in Hyderabad, he claimed two wickets while conceding just 12 runs. With an economy rate of 9.13, he has claimed 11 wickets in 12 games.

3. The knock from Ayush Badoni
For LSG, Match 57 was all about Ayush Badoni’s performance against the formidable Sunrisers Hyderabad. When the first batting lineup failed too soon, his fifty-run innings in just 28 balls for the Lucknow Super Giants were much-needed. LSG amassed a score of 165/4 in the allocated 20 overs thanks to the knocks of Ayush Badoni (55 off 38) and Nicholas Pooran (48 off 26).
THE AYUSH BADONI SHOW.
A fifty in just 28 balls for LSG at a much needed time – what a knock by Badoni, one of the best for LSG.

This IPL has showed us one thing—There’s no dearth of power-hitters in Indian cricket. A few of them are still uncapped.

On a slow pitch the easiest time to bat is againts the new ball. The difference between both the team’s approach in the power play is clearly visible.
