On Thursday, April 25, at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad, IPL 2024: Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) by a margin of 35 runs, breaking their six-match losing streak.
Choosing to bat first, Bengaluru amassed a respectable 206/7 in their 20 overs thanks to late-inning flourishes from Cameron Green and Virat Kohli, who both scored half-centuries. During his four-over performance, Jaydev Unadkat emerged as the most effective bowler, taking three wickets at a cost of thirty runs.
In response, the Sunrisers could never fully recover after losing half their side for 69 runs in the first eight overs. After Shahbaz Ahmed finished unbeaten at 37 balls for 40, the Orange Army eventually batted out their 20 overs, scoring just 171/8. After his 15-ball 31, Pat Cummins briefly threatened, but the Sunrisers had left too much to overcome at the back end.
Because of his amazing half-century, which kept RCB’s run rate high during the middle overs, Patidar was named Player of the Match.
Now, let’s examine the game’s highlights:
1. With his all-around bravery, Cameron Green steals the show
Because of his strong bat and ball skills, the Australian all-rounder ended up becoming the game’s MVP. Green hit five fours in his undefeated 37 off 20 balls while batting at No. 5. After his outstanding performance at bat, he used his newfound confidence to take a few wickets with the ball while only giving up 12 runs in two overs.

2. For the second time in a row, Rajat Patidar scores fifty.
Although he had a terrible IPL 2024 start, the right-handed hitter is gradually displaying his class. Following his 52 off 23 balls against the Kolkata Knight Riders in the last encounter, the 30-year-old hammered a 20-ball fifty against Cummins and Co., smacking two fours and five sixes. His hit created the perfect stage for the lower order big hitters to capitalise, as well as giving the RCB innings some much-needed push.

3. Virat Kohli scores a 37-ball half-century.
Virat Kohli reached his 53rd half-century in his glorious IPL career as he kept hammering home runs. With four fours and one six, the former skipper amassed a cautious 51 from 43 balls. He became the first IPL 2024 batsman to reach 400 runs. Others thought that Kohli’s patient approach was a wonderful counterbalance to Patidar’s crucial third wicket partnership of 65 runs off 34 balls, while some lambasted Kohli for it.
