IPL 2024: Virat Kohli teases the audience by implying that he might start bowling; the video becomes viral

At Kolkata’s famed Eden Gardens venue, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) takes on Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). A memorable scenario on the pitch, directed by none other than the legendary Virat Kohli, came to life just before the match began.

Prior to the start of the first inning, Virat Kohli was seen on the field and appeared to be getting ready for his run-up by taking off his cap. He was playing the part of the opening bowler, looking ready to bowl the first over. Despite the fact that it was clearly more of a playful moment meant to tease the audience, the incident’s footage rapidly went viral online.

RCB made three changes to their playing XI going into the game, recalling Green, Siraj, and Karn Sharma. They also elected to bowl first. RCB skipper Faf du Plessis stated before the game that he preferred to chase because the ground has historically favored it. He noticed a decrease in temperature the day before, even though he typically likes to bat first in hot weather. He thought they could get back into the game and make good use of their arsenal of weapons because they had a solid batting lineup and important players were back.

“We are going to pursue. This is, and likely always has been, a hunting ground. In extreme heat, I like to bat first, but yesterday, the temperature did drop after an hour or so, unlike in places like Chennai or Mumbai, where the heat never stops. A general score of 60–70 isn’t thought to be excellent during the batting PP because of how good the batting is. We know we have the firepower and we can regain the momentum if we take a few steps back,” Faf stated, as cited by Cricbuzz.

Turning our attention to the standings, RCB has played seven games, winning only one and losing six, which has left them in last place. On the other hand, KKR has been playing well even after suffering a heartbreaking defeat to the Rajasthan Royals in their most recent game. Having won four of their last six games, they are presently ranked third in the standings.
