On Wednesday, April 16, during Match 32 of the current Indian Premier League between the DC and Rajasthan Royals at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, KL Rahul was forced to return to the pavilion due to a deft catch by Shimron Hetmyer at deep midwicket. In addition, Rahul was fired by Archer for the first time in IPL history.
The West Indian in the deep was flat-batted after a short delivery on the middle stump. Hetmyer was losing the ball. Hetmyer scalped the ball only inches off the ground after perfectly judging its trajectory. On the fourth delivery of the 13th over, Rahul’s innings of 32 balls came to an end.
