In the ongoing IPL 2025, skipper Rishabh Pant of the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) has been a terrible batsman. The most costly purchase in the history of the competition, Pant, scored his third single-digit score in four games this season when he was removed for only two runs against the Mumbai Indians (MI) at the BRSABV Ekana Stadium.
Captain Hardik Pandya bowled a length delivery in the eleventh over, dismissing him. In an attempt to work it on the leg side, Pant closed the bat’s face too soon, giving mid-off a lead. Substitute fielder Corbin Bosch then swooped forward and grabbed a one-handed blinder.
Having lost their best batsman, Nicholas Pooran, in the ninth over was a major setback for LSG.
The hosts’ victory was preserved by Mitchell Marsh’s (60 off 31) and Aiden Markram’s (53 off 38) outstanding starts. After them, David Miller (27 off 14) and Ayush Badoni (30 off 19) made brief appearances, assisting LSG in reaching 203 runs at the close of their innings.
Pandya, the captain of MI, had a memorable day as he became the first captain to ever pick a fifer with stats of 5/36.
