The in-form Rajat Patidar was dismissed by Ryan Rickelton, the wicket-keeper batsman for the Mumbai Indians, who made what could be considered the catch of IPL 2025 thus far by diving full-length behind him.
After entering at number four, the RCB captain played a captain’s knock, reaching his fifty in just twenty-five deliveries.
The visiting team surpassed the 200-mark thanks to his partnership with Jitesh Sharma, who also gave it his all in the last overs (40* off 19).
But when Patidar tried to scoop off Trent Boult’s bowling in the last delivery of the 19th over, Rickelton executed a brilliant stroke. Rickelton, running back from behind the stumps, never took his eyes off the ball as it took a top edge and attempted to cross the keeper and reach the boundary. After scoring 64 off 32 balls, Patidar walked back, but South Africa flung himself forward with his arms outstretched and completed a full-length dive to complete the catch.

Hardik Pandya, the captain of the Mumbai Indians, had earlier won the toss and chosen to field first against RCB, who were suffering from their first loss of the year. Phil Salt was dismissed by RCB in the second ball of the innings due to a textbook Boult dismissal.
However, Virat Kohli, who appeared to be in fantastic form, was unfazed by that early breakthrough. Together with Devdutt Padikkal, they scored 91 runs in 52 balls. It took Pandya to eliminate Kohli (67 off 42) and Liam Livingstone (0 off 2) after Kohli hit his fifty in 29 balls. In their final 20 overs, the team scored 221/5. Boult finished his tenure with 2/57, which put MI on the pricey side of the spectrum. Vignesh Puthur and Pandy each took one wicket.
Following Krunal’s second delivery in the final over of the match, Tim David and Salt put up an incredible effort in the deep. Following Deepak Chahar’s massive smash, the ball was on its way to the deep midwicket boundary. David was inside the fence when Salt swiftly parried the ball after catching it above his head.
