At the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on Monday, May 5, in the pivotal match between Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Delhi Capitals (DC), Ishan Kishan made a brilliant catch to send his opposite number, Abishek Porel, packing.
Pat Cummins won the toss and chose to bowl first, leading SRH from the front.
In his first two overs, the SRH captain captured the wickets of DC openers Karun Nair and Faf du Plessis. As he entered the powerplay to bowl his third consecutive over, Cummins had his tail up. When Abishek Porel noticed the Australian skipper making a mistake in his line, he went for a flip, despite his desire to break the constraints. But all the DC wicketkeeper-batter could muster was a leading edge that soared high into the air.
Kishan ran towards the ball and called early. Ultimately, he had to make the dive to finish the catch, and Cummins took his third wicket of the game. After losing three wickets in five overs for 15 runs, DC was in serious trouble. However, after Axar Patel and KL Rahul were removed in overs six and eight, respectively, the situation worsened.
After joining forces at the score of 29/5 in the eighth over, Tristan Stubbs and Vipraj Nigam will now have the responsibility of leading the visitors to a reasonable total.
