Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) defeated Gujarat Titans (GT) by 33 runs in a dramatic 64th match of the Indian Premier League 2025 at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium.
Gujarat Titans, who chose to bowl first, were startled by Lucknow’s batting masterclass, which saw the visiting side post a whopping 235/2 in 20 overs, due to explosive performances from Mitchell Marsh and Nicholas Pooran. Marsh smashed 117 off 64 balls, peppering the boundary with 10 fours and eight sixes, while Pooran stayed undefeated on 56 from 27 balls, keeping the tempo going till the conclusion. Aiden Markram made a fast 36 before succumbing to R Sai Kishore.
GT’s bowlers struggled to contain the onslaught, with only Sai Kishore and Arshad Khan picking up one wicket each. Despite Rashid Khan and Siraj’s attempts to put pressure, the LSG hitters proved unstoppable.
In response, the Gujarat Titans started energetically, with Shubman Gill (35 off 20) and Sai Sudharsan (21 off 16) keeping the chase going. However, consistent wickets hampered their progress. Sherfane Rutherford and Shahrukh Khan both produced solid knocks, but neither could anchor the innings to the conclusion. GT finished with 202/9 from 20 overs.
LSG’s bowling was dominated by William O’Rourke, who took three wickets for 27 runs. Avesh Khan and part-timer Ayush Badoni both took two wickets, tightening the screws in the final overs.
