IPL 2025: Injured Sanju Samson to miss RCB match

Sanju Samson, the captain of the Rajasthan Royals, will not play in Thursday, April 24’s match against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium.

During the Delhi Capitals game, Samson had a severe stomach injury that caused him to retire nearly instantly. Additionally, he was absent from the Royals’ most recent game on Saturday, April 19, when they lost by a slim margin of two runs to the Lucknow Super Giants.

Riyan Parag will continue to serve as the interim captain while Sanju Samson is away.

Due to a finger injury he sustained during the T20I series against England, Samson played in the first three games for the Royals as a specialist batter, marking the second time he has had injury-related problems. The organisation has acknowledged that a “game-by-game” strategy would be used and that Samson’s progress is being tracked.

Samson is presently recovering and will stay with a few members of the RR medical crew at the team’s home base in Jaipur.
