In Match 24 of the current IPL 2025, the Delhi Capitals (DC) defeated Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) by a commanding six wickets at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, extending their winning streak in the competition. In a match that went back and forth before DC crossed the finish line with 13 balls remaining, KL Rahul’s undefeated 93 off 53 deliveries proved to be the game-winning blow.
After DC captain Axar Patel properly called the toss, RCB was asked to bat first, and they got off to an incredible start. With a 30-run over against Mitchell Starc and 37 runs off just 17 balls, Phil Salt seemed invincible during the powerplay. The Bengaluru-based team aimed to set a high total after soaring to 53 in just 3 overs.
A collapse was brought on by Salt’s run-out because of a misunderstanding with Virat Kohli. With spinners Kuldeep Yadav (2/17) and Vipraj Nigam (2/18) making sure to bowl at the proper lengths, RCB was having trouble at 102/5 after falling behind at 61/0. Tim David’s late cameo (37* off 20) helped RCB end at 163/7, but Rajat Patidar (25 off 23) and Kohli (22 off 14) were unable to convert their starts.
DC’s response got off to a bad start. The scorecard read 39/3 under six overs, with the hosts at the lead, while Faf du Plessis, Jake Fraser-McGurk, and Abishek Porel all went cheaply. KL Rahul, who was 29 off 29 at one point, abruptly changed gears, but Tristan Stubbs and Rahul made sure to shoulder the responsibility and do the job for their team. He started by hitting Josh Hazlewood for 22 runs with three fours and a six in the 15th over. Stubbs (38* off 23) gave him good support as he hammered the opposition bowlers, and he reached his fifty off 39 balls.
Rahul led DC to 169/4 in 17.5 overs with a knock that included seven fours and six sixes. With this victory, RCB lost for the second time this season, and the Capitals became the only club to go undefeated with four straight victories.
