The 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL) will commence on Saturday, May 17, according to a recent press announcement from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). This comes following in-depth discussions with the Indian government and all of the tournament’s major stakeholders.
Beginning on the above indicated day, a total of 17 games are scheduled to be played at six different locations. On Tuesday, June 3, the IPL 2025 final is set to take place.
Two doubleheaders that will be played on different Sundays are included in the updated schedule.
The itinerary for the playoffs is as follows:
- Qualifier 1: May 29
- Eliminator: May 30
- Qualifier 2: June 1
- Final: June 3
It will soon be known which locations will host the playoffs. Venues for the remaining league games will include Bengaluru, Jaipur, Delhi, Lucknow, Mumbai, and Ahmedabad. Tuesday, May 27, is the last day of the group-stage matches.

The fresh schedule is a majorly tweaked one compared to the original which could be attributed to logistical reasons for the teams.
