“Operation Sindoor” was carried out by the Indian Army early on Wednesday, May 7. But according to rumours, it won’t affect the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 right away. India has apparently attacked certain terrorist facilities in Pakistan, leading to the closure of the Dharamsala airport.
On Thursday, May 8, the Punjab Kings (PBKS) will take on the Delhi Capitals (DC) at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala. Unless advised otherwise by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), both teams intend to take part in the practice sessions scheduled for Wednesday.
“The BCCI and IPL officials have not yet provided us with any information. We are proceeding according to the first plan,” a PBKS representative stated.
On Thursday, May 8, the five-time champion Mumbai Indians (MI) will fly to Dharamsala, where they will play PBKS on Sunday, May 11.
Another franchise executive stated, “The BCCI has not provided us with any information regarding this.”
On Wednesday, May 7, the reigning champion Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) will play the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. The five-time champions CSK are now at the bottom of the points table and have already been eliminated from the IPL 2025.
With five wins, KKR is in sixth place and will want to win in front of their home crowd. Their prospects of qualifying for the playoffs will rise with this victory over the Yellow Brigade.
In their hometown, KKR had already annihilated the Men in Yellow. Harshit Rana, Sunil Narine, and Varun Chakravarthy’s outstanding bowling performance held CSK to 103 runs in their 20 overs. With eight wickets remaining, the three-time champs defeated the host team.
