Gujarat Titans (GT), which was founded in 2021, qualified first for the 2023 Indian Premier League (IPL) finals. GT defeated 2016 champions Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) by 34 runs in their 13th match of the current IPL season on May 15 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, securing their position in the playoffs.
The Hardik Pandya-led team finished their league stage in style by defeating Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) by six wickets on Sunday, May 21, at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
Gujarat Titans topped the IPL 2023 points table with 20 points from 14 matches played.

IPL 2022 (First position)
Everyone was astonished by the Gujarat Titans’ debut-season performances. They began their 2022 campaign with a victory over fellow newcomers, the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). Gujarat completed the 2022 season with ten wins in fourteen group games and first place in the points table.
GT defeated Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the first qualifier, and they faced again in the final after RR defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the second qualifier. In the championship match, GT defeated the Sanju Samson-led team by seven wickets. Gujarat became the second team to win the IPL in its inaugural season, following Rajasthan Royals (2008).
