Sunrisers Hyderabad will play for dignity against the Lucknow Super Giants in Match 61 of the season after being eliminated from the IPL 2025. LSG will be eliminated if they lose any of their final three games, even if they are still in the running for the playoffs.
They have now lost three straight games. Prabhsimran Singh’s 91 and the contributions of every other batsman gave Punjab Kings a formidable total, thoroughly overwhelming Rishabh Pant and his team in their most recent game at Dharamsala. The visitors were then eliminated after left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh scored three runs during the powerplay in LSG’s chase. The only LSG batsmen to score a fair amount were Ayush Badoni and Abdul Samad, although it could only narrow LSG’s margin of defeat.
The Delhi Capitals defeated SRH in their most recent game in Hyderabad. In the powerplay, Pat Cummins scored three goals, including one off the opening ball. By the seventh over, DC had half their team in the hut thanks to an economical spell from Jaydev Unadkat, who gave his captain the finest support. Then, Ashutosh Sharma and Tristan Stubbs formed an alliance to save DC from certain death. But even before SRH’s openers could leave the pursuit, the rain got the last word.
SRH was eliminated from the tournament due to their last game’s lack of outcome. SRH will try to even the score in the rematch in Hyderabad since they have nothing else to lose this season but their pride. SRH was behind after Shardul Thakur struck twice in the second over. Nitish Reddy and Travis Head started, but LSG’s bowlers responded. Pat Cummins and Aniket Verma made brief appearances to provide some legitimacy to SRH’s total.
Nicholas Pooran dispelled all concerns after Aiden Markram left early in the chase. Mitchell Marsh’s fifty and Abdul Samad’s cameo allowed LSG to finish the chase of 190 with nearly four overs remaining, while Pooran needed just 26 balls to reach his seventy.
