Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) added another chapter to their illustrious IPL career by scoring 278/3 against Kolkata Knight Riders in Match 68 of the 2025 season at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. This was the third-highest total registered by a squad in the premier tournament’s 18-season existence.
Heinrich Klaasen’s record undefeated 105-run knock off 39 deliveries propelled the Orange Army to their massive score. His innings had seven fours and nine sixes. Travis Head (76 off 40) got the runners-up in the last edition off to a flying start. Other contributors included Abhishek Sharma (32 off 16), Ishan Kishan (29 off 20), and Aniket Verma (12* off six).
Below are the highest totals set by teams in IPL history:
| Score | Team | Innings | Opposition | Venue | Date |
| 287/3 | SRH | 1 | RCB | Bengaluru | 15/04/24 |
| 286/6 | SRH | 1 | RR | Hyderabad | 23/03/25 |
| 278/3 | SRH | 1 | KKR | Delhi | 25/05/25 |
| 277/3 | SRH | 1 | MI | Hyderabad | 27/03/24 |
| 272/7 | KKR | 1 | DC | Visakhapatnam | 03/04/24 |
The highest-successful chase up until now is KKR’s 261/6 which was tracked down by PBKS (262/2 in 18.4 overs) at the Eden Gardens on April 26, 2024 on the back of Jonny Bairstow (108* off 48) and Shashank Singh’s (68* off 28) knocks.
Meanwhile, the IPL 2025 match between KKR and SRH is meaningless because both teams have been eliminated from contention for the playoffs. Prior to the contest, SRH and KKR had each won five of their previous 13 games.
SRH and KKR had the misfortune of sharing points twice and once, respectively. Notably, KKR has a significantly higher net run rate than SRH (+0.193 vs. -0.737). KKR defeated SRH by 80 runs last April.
