In the U19 Women’s One Day Trophy, Ira Jadhav, a 14-year-old Mumbai opener, scored a triple century. She smashed Smriti Mandhana age-group record for the greatest U19 score by an Indian, scoring 346 runs with 16 sixes and 42 fours. At the Alur Cricket Ground in Bengaluru, Mumbai defeated Meghalaya by a massive 563/3 in 50 overs, with her remaining undefeated at 346 from 157 balls.
In all competitions and age levels, the best score ever achieved by an Indian women’s domestic team is 563. The right-handed batter also made history by becoming the first Indian player, both male and female, to reach a triple century in a limited-overs competition run by the BCCI. Notably, she registered for the just-completed Women’s Premier League 2025 auctions but was not successful.
Ira Jadhav considers Jemimah to be her hero.
Following her spectacular achievement, she talked about her favourite cricket player and picked Jemimah Rodrigues, the top batsman for India, as her idol. Additionally, she emphasised how Jemimah’s energy both on and off the pitch inspires her. She also talked about the highlight of her cricketing career to yet.
“Jemimah Rodrigues is the cricket player I believe to be my idol. I adore the way she treats her teammates, her enthusiasm on the pitch, her game, and the energy she brings to the team. My goal is to make the national squad. According to the Indian Express, Jadhav stated, “I also want to represent India at the World Cup.”
I scored my first century (163) with a mixed team at that time. There was a mix of boys and females on the squads a few years ago in Pune. That made me feel like I could succeed,” she continued.
