Big Cricket League 2024: Irfan Pathan to lead Mumbai Marines

The Mumbai Marines’ exciting team for the forthcoming Big Cricket League 2024 has been formally revealed. It has a strong blend of native and foreign players. Irfan Pathan, a former Indian all-rounder, will assist the club with his invaluable skills in both the bowling and batting departments. Lendl Simmons, the explosive opener for the West Indies, and Richard Levi, the South African heavyweight, are bringing international firepower to the roster.

Six top cricket teams will compete in Surat starting on December 12, 2024, in the Big Cricket League (BCL), a groundbreaking development in cricket entertainment. With a novel format that offers top-notch cricket entertainment, this innovative competition brings together international cricket legends, seasoned domestic players, and up-and-coming local talent.

Left-arm spinner Malinda Pushpakumara of Sri Lanka and Indian domestic cricket legend Manpreet Gony bolster the team’s bowling arsenal. The acquisition of Chamara Silva, a former batter for Sri Lanka, brings significant middle-order consistency and extensive international experience.

Key all-around assets have been recognised as local talents Subodh Bhati and Manan Sharma, while up-and-coming players like Abhishek Kaul and Shivam Kumar stand to gain from sharing the locker room with more seasoned players.

“I am very excited to be joining the Mumbai Marines for the first season of the Big Cricket League,” Irfan Pathan said in reference to the team.

Having competed in leagues all across the world, I am aware of BCL’s enormous potential. Given our current team makeup, I think we can compete seriously for the championship. It was a simple choice for me because of the league’s increasing prominence and professional structure.
