The Mumbai Indians (MI) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will compete in an Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 game at the renowned Wankhede Stadium on April 8. Although the matchup between the two clubs is frequently referred to as “El Classico” of the IPL, cricket fans will be anticipating it. Prior to the match, CSK skipper MS Dhoni paused from practice to talk with MI players.
Also, he met Ishan Kishan, a stumper for MI and a member of Team India who is also from Bihar.
Prior to the most anticipated IPL game, MI posted a video of Dhoni and Ishan Kishan talking. Sachin Tendulkar was also seen visiting the Wankhede Stadium in the same video. The MI players, including captain Rohit Sharma, were overheard conversing with the former Indian cricket captain.
At the Wankhede Stadium, the Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings will face off.
With five IPL championships, MI is the most successful team in league history, while CSK has four. The previous IPL season was a complete bust for both clubs, with CSK taking ninth and MI taking tenth, respectively.
The defending champion Gujarat Titans (GT) were CSK’s first opponent in the IPL 2023, and they lost by a score of 5 wickets. Yet in their second match, they produced a stunning comeback, defeating the KL Rahul-led Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) by 12 runs at Chepauk. In his brief cameo appearance at the end of the game, Dhoni hit two significant sixes to bring down spinner Mark Wood.
On the other hand, MI was dealt a devastating defeat in their opening game by the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). They still have match-winners in their roster despite the absence of Jasprit Bumrah, their main bowling spearhead. However, despite the defeat that the Rohit-led team experienced, MI will aim to win on Saturday in front of their home crowd.
