Star Indian batsman and wicketkeeper Ishan Kishan is reportedly out of the first Duleep Trophy 2024 match, which is set to start in Anantapur on September 5. For reasons that are still unknown, the left-hand hitter who was supposed to play for Team D under Shreyas Iyer‘s direction is now a doubtful starter.
Kishan may be recovering from an injury, according to a report, however the precise form and scope of the possible setback are unknown.
The 26-year-old recently competed for his state team, Jharkhand, in the Buchi Babu competition in Chennai. Having played in just two games, Kishan amassed an incredible century (114) in the opening contest before putting up a poor performance in the second, scoring just one run in two innings.
Replaced by injured Ishan Kishan will be Sanju Samson: Reports
Ishan was disciplined by national selectors the previous season for missing many Ranji Trophy matches in spite of explicit orders from the BCCI to play. The board had made it plain that Kishan’s participation in state-level tournaments would determine whether or not he was considered for national selection.
The Patna-born person’s participation in the Buchi Babu tournament may have been a step in the right direction, but it’s important to remember that this red-ball sport is not acknowledged as a national occasion.

Sanju Samson, who wasn’t originally selected for any of the four teams, is reportedly a possibility to replace Kishan. Though this will mostly rely on his fitness and the Indian team’s selection for the next Bangladesh Test series, Kishan could still enter the event in its later rounds.
