IPL 2025 has already begun to generate excitement, and many fans and experts have already talked about the fantastic moments from the previous year’s competition. The competition showcased not only the skills of seasoned fighters but also up-and-coming young players hoping to succeed in the international competition.
In addition to seeing some of the greatest players in the history of the competition, spectators also get to see some up-and-coming players who are vying for a spot on the largest stages. A few young players have achieved incredible success and become global celebrities thanks to the lucrative league.
Former IPL finalist and coach Anil Kumble has since come forth to say how thrilled he is by the quality that uncapped players contribute.
The renowned leg spinner has discussed some of the 2024 season’s most memorable young players, mentioning players like Abhishek Sharma and Nitish Kumar Reddy who have excelled while wearing the national colours.
Some of the young, uncapped Indian players from the previous season struck me as particularly impressive. Ashutosh Sharma, Nitish Reddy, Mayank Yadav, Riyan Parag, and even Abhishek Sharma have all been really good players. It’s encouraging to see young uncapped players emerge and show off their skills, frequently taking centre stage from more seasoned international players, Kumble said on JioHotstar.
Regarding some of these young players, Nitish Reddy has shown some outstanding all-around performances in the Test arena, including scoring his first Test century against the Australian attack in the Boxing Day match at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Abhishek Sharma has also impressed in the T20Is, amassing 535 runs at an average of 33.43 and a strike rate of 193.84.
