Yashasvi Jaiswal on IPL and international cricket experiences -‘Both formats present valuable learning opportunities’ 

Unlike previous seasons, Yashasvi Jaiswal, the opener for the Rajasthan Royals (RR), has not scored in any of the games played thus far in the ongoing IPL 2025. Although the player enjoys attacking the bowlers in the opening over, he hasn’t yet mastered the rhythm. Remarkably, RR defeated the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in their last match with considerable ease.

Also, it was their first victory of the year. Jaiswal talked candidly about his experiences playing in the IPL and for the Indian cricket team. Although they are very different, both provided him with a wide range of experiences. Although he is a regular in red-ball cricket, the southpaw has not yet received the respect he merits in white-ball cricket. He disclosed that he prefers to be “flexible” and “aware” of his surroundings.

Both styles do, however, offer worthwhile educational possibilities. “I’ve learnt the value of flexibility from playing under pressure in different formats, including Test cricket, One-Day cricket, and T20,” Jaiswal stated during an interview on Jio Hotstar.

For me, the most important lesson has been to maintain awareness, flexibility, and the ability to adapt to various circumstances as they emerge. I am loving the ride and always trying to improve as a player,” the 23-year-old continued.

In addition, Yashasvi Jaiswal considered his approach to both forms over the years. For him, it all came down to “understanding” the game and adopting the right mindset. As an offensive player, Jaiswal has achieved success in Test cricket by sticking to his strategy.

I adjust my strategy and play in a way that helps the team as a result. I’ll go for it if I have to score 15 runs off six balls.
