The Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) are scheduled to play their final league game against the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). One of the franchise’s recent concerns has been the fitness of one of its top batting talents, Travis Head, who missed the last game due to COVID.
Questions remain over Travis Head possibilities of playing the forthcoming game at Lucknow’s Ekana Stadium.
However, SRH bowling coach James Franklin has finally provided a positive health update on the swashbuckling Australian left-handed opening batsman, stating that the two-time ICC title winner has completed all protocols and is fit and available for selection for the match on May 23 on Friday.
“As far as I am aware, he has followed all COVID protocols. So, sure, he’s fit and ready for selection in tomorrow’s game,” Franklin stated at the pre-match press conference.
SRH and RCB’s last
This is the Orange Army’s first match against the Bengaluru franchise this season, although they played in some amazing, high-scoring contests last season. In the first game of 2024, the Hyderabad franchise scored the highest score in IPL history, 287-3 in the opening innings. RCB made a brave effort to go close, but ultimately fell 25 runs short of the mark. Travis Head had struck a fantastic century during the game and was named player of the match.
The reverse fixture saw RCB exact their retribution, scoring a total of 206-7 on the board. The Bengaluru bowlers did an excellent job, limiting the Sunrisers to 171-8 in the end and won the game by 35 runs. Rajat Patidar was named player of the match after scoring 50 off 20 deliveries, and Karn Sharma was the standout bowler with statistics of 2/29 in four overs.
