During the Asia Cup match between India and Nepal, Javagal Srinath is scheduled to referee his 250th Men’s One-Day International.

Javagal Srinath, a member of the Emirates ICC Elite Panel of Match Referees, will referee the Asia Cup match between India and Nepal on Monday in Pallekele. This will be his 250th men’s one-day international match.

Srinath, a former fast bowler for India who concluded his career with a total of 236 wickets in 67 Test matches and 315 wickets in 229 One-Day Internationals, was a member of the Indian squad that competed in the final of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup in 2003. Three years later, he was appointed as a match referee for the ICC.

After Ranjan Madugalle, Chris Broad, and Jeff Crowe, Srinath, who will soon become the fourth person to reach the milestone of 250 one-day internationals as a match referee, stated that he felt honoured to have officiated in such a large number of matches.

“It feels great to be reaching this milestone in my career as a match referee,” said Javagal Srinath. My career on the circuit has spanned 17 years, and it’s hard to believe that I have now refereed in more one-day internationals than I did as a player.

“I consider it a great honour to be able to continue working in this industry. Since making my international debut as a match referee in a Test match between Sri Lanka and South Africa in Colombo back in 2006, I have been blessed with a lot of success and will continue to work hard in the years to come in order to achieve it.

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank the International Cricket Council (ICC), the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), my colleagues on the Elite Panel, as well as close friends and family members who have been with me through this journey.”

ICC Manager of Umpires and Referees Sean Easey sent his congratulations to Srinath on reaching the new benchmark.

“Srinath made a seamless transition from player to match referee, and we consider ourselves extremely fortunate to have him on our elite panel,” said Sean Easey. It was quite helpful to have someone with his level of knowledge and respect among the other players.

To achieve long-term success like this one, it requires a significant amount of dedication and self-sacrifice. I would like to offer my congratulations, on behalf of the International Criminal Court, to Javagal on the achievement of this significant milestone.

The following is a brief overview of Javagal Srinath’s career as an ICC match referee:

2006 marked the year that he was accepted for the Elite Panel of Match Referees for the Emirates ICC.
Refereed his debut men’s one-day international in the year 2006.
2007 ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup: Referee for the Tournament
I participated as a Referee in the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy in both 2009 and 2013
I participated as a referee in the ICC Men’s Twenty20 World Cup in 2012, 2014, 2016, and 2021.
She also served as a Referee in 65 Test Matches, 118 Twenty20 Internationals for Men, and 16 Twenty20 Internationals for Women.
