During Match 17 of the WPL 2025 match against the Delhi Capitals Women, Jemimah Rodrigues’ penultimate delivery of the 18th over of the Gujarat Giants Women’s innings was a stroke of genius. The crowd at Lucknow’s Ekana International Cricket Stadium was in complete awe at the effort.
Deandra Dottin got off to a great start to the over, needing 32 from 18 deliveries to chase down the 178-run goal set by DC Women. Dottin miscued the hoik off a slightly more flighted delivery than the previous one towards the deep mid-wicket fence in an attempt to further demolish Jess Jonassen.
In the end, Jemimah Rodrigues grabbed the catch just inches above the grass after racing in off the rail and lunging forward full-stretch.
Sit Back and Watch! 🙌

Gujarat emerged as the rightful winners with three deliveries remaining and five wickets, despite the outstanding effort. Harleen Deol, who came in at number three, brilliantly spearheaded the chase to go undefeated at 70 off 49 deliveries and win Player of the Match for her achievement.
Lanning gets no recognition for his elegant 92.
Surprisingly, Harleen did not lead either team in scoring. Meg Lanning, the captain of Delhi, blasted her way to a magnificent 92-run off of 57 deliveries. On the penultimate delivery of the opening inning, she was out. She had one maximum and fifteen fours in her outstanding knock. Except for Shafali Verma, her opening partner, no other batter was able to make a significant contribution to the scoreboard.
Gujarat secured its fourth WPL 2025 victory with this triumph. With a higher net run rate of +0.334 than the Mumbai Indians Women (+0.267), they surged to second place on the table after the victory. Gujarat’s victory means that the UP Warriorz Women’s time is almost done.
