Early on the fifth day of the third Test match between India and England, Rishabh Pant was dismissed by a blazing delivery from Jofra Archer. For nine off twelve, Pant had to return to the pavilion. In India’s run-chase of 193 at Lord’s, the southpaw was the sixth wicket to be lost.
Archer, who came from around the wicket and had the ball nipped in from a length, was a complete snorter. Archer and his teammates were in complete ecstasy as the ball slammed into the top of off stump after passing the outside edge of Pant’s bat.

Notably, the current Lord’s Test marks Jofra Archer return to the red ball setup after more than four years.
He had been forced to leave the scene due to a series of back and elbow injuries. Despite taking just two wickets in India’s first innings, his pace and precision were spot on.
India was given a goal of 193 to chase after the hosts were dismissed for 192 in their second innings. Washington Sundar was the standout bowler, finishing with an impressive 4/22 in 12.1 overs. His performance in the second innings followed a wicketless first innings. Joe Root, England’s first-innings centurion, scored 40 off 96 runs.
It was a chaotic end to Day 4 when the visitors lost three wickets in the last half-an-hour of proceedings after losing Yashasvi Jaiswal early on for a seven-ball duck. Karun Nair (14 off 33), Shubman Gill (six off nine), and Akash Deep (one off 11) were the players who departed before Stumps were called.
