In a major announcement, Australian pacer Josh Hazlewood has rejoined the Royal Challengers Bengaluru side as they prepare for the Indian Premier League 2025 Playoffs. Hazlewood, who had been nursing a shoulder injury, missed a league stage match for RCB, and when the competition was postponed, he returned to Australia, with minimal odds of making a comeback.
However, in an unexpected surprise, the veteran campaigner is now ready to deliver his right-arm pace to the Rajat Patidar-led side once more. With his arrival in India, it is officially known that the pacer has fully recovered from his niggle and will most likely play in
RCB’s last league stage match against Lucknow Super Giants on Tuesday, May 27, at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Stadium.
The franchise used social media to casually announce his presence in an encrypted fashion, but RCB supporters, who are among the most devoted online, were quick to pick up on the hint from an image of cricket kit with Cricket Australia branding all over the bags.

Tim Seifert also joins.
Meanwhile, RCB had named Tim Seifert as one of their season-long temporary replacements for English batter Jacob Bethell. The New Zealander has also announced his entry in the team’s lineup ahead of the LSG match. However, his participation in the upcoming match is uncertain, as Hazlewood is expected to make the cut among the four overseas players allowed in a Playing XI.
Hazlewood, meanwhile, may not be putting much strain on his body because he is also a member of Australia’s side that will face South Africa in the World Test Championship 2025 Final at Lord’s in London, just a week after the tournament’s end.
