Little did the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) anticipate such a lacklustre return from the wicketkeeper batsman when they paid INR 27 crore for him. With a nine-ball three against the Rajasthan Royals on April 19 (Saturday), Rishabh Pant, the skipper of LSG and their batting mainstay, maintained his dismal run.
Rishabh Pant could have gone home after the first ball had he not been spared from an LBW shout by a small edge.
The left-hander appeared to be struggling from that point on, as he was unable to make any significant contact with the ball.
With three runs off eight balls, Pant’s eyes light up as he attempts a bold reverse sweep against Wanindu Hasaranga in an advantageous matchup. The left-hander’s attempt to get an edge on the ball, which went right into the clutches of RR’s wicketkeeper Dhruv Jurel, went tragically wrong.
Juggle. Fumble. Grab. Got him! 👀

On the first try, however, Jurel was unable to hold on before the ball looped again, so he juggled for a second time before managing to hold the ball on safely on the third. Pant’s gruelling stint at the crease, during which he managed just three runs off nine balls, came to a close. His total for the IPL 2025 so far is 106 runs with a strike rate of 98.14.
