The Delhi Capitals (DC) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) will play each other in the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL 2025). Mayank Yadav was one of the players to keep an eye on this season. However, given the Lucknow team’s ongoing injury problems, LSG head coach Justin Langer’s update on the young bowler was anything but encouraging.
The 22-year-old bowler has been dealing with health concerns as a result of numerous ailments, despite impressing fans with his speed in the most recent IPL season. When Langer disclosed that Mayank had sustained an unusual injury, supporters were thrilled to see the young fast bowler in the nets during preseason training camps.
He spent further time in rehab after unintentionally kicking his toe on his bed, which resulted in an infection. It turns out that Langer may only be available in the latter stages of the event, despite his claims that he has resumed bowling.
“Everyone was really thrilled about Mayank last year, and he was doing pretty well until he kicked his toe on the bed. His recuperation has been delayed by a week or two due to an infection in his toe. However, he is now operational. Videos of him bowling are common. Yesterday, I saw one of his videos. Therefore, ideally, Mayank will be available for us by the end of the competition. Langer
Key pacers are out as LSG battles injuries.
The problems with injuries in Lucknow don’t end there. Mohsin Khan will also miss the remainder of the season because of a calf strain, in addition to Mayank Yadav, another player who was kept by the team. Akash Deep, a pacer who won over supporters during India’s Test matches, is also dealing with a back problem.
Mumbai’s pace-bowling all-rounder Shardul Thakur, who has had an excellent domestic season thus far, has now taken Mohsin’s place. Avesh Khan, one of their top wicket-takers from the previous campaign, is also battling a slight knee issue.
