Kagiso Rabada, a South African pacer, was clearly irritated during the Champions Trophy 2025 match against England at the National Stadium in Karachi and accused Joe Root of purposefully wasting time. The Proteas bowlers played aggressively as the dramatic situation developed.

Joe Root frequent pull-outs irritate Kagiso Rabada.
At the much-anticipated match, Joe Root, England’s centurion from the previous game, was having trouble concentrating and was regularly leaving his stance because of sight screen problems. In the 14th over, when Root was facing Rabada, he was brought out twice in rapid succession, which made the situation worse.
The umpire was informed by the South African fast bowler, who was obviously disturbed by the disruption, that Root was plainly trying to disrupt his rhythm. To an already captivating contest, the incident provided a compelling new plot.
Under South Africa’s dominance, England is in jeopardy.
Having won the toss and chosen to bat, England had a disastrous start, losing the vital wickets of Jamie Smith and Phil Salt in short succession. The team was in a precarious position because both Ben Duckett and Joe Root, who had a steady start, were unable to stay.
Keeping things under control, South Africa’s resolute bowling attack dismissed England for 179 in 38.2 overs. None of England’s players scored fifty runs. The highest scorer, Root, scored 37 runs off 44 balls.
Rabada and Lungi Ngidi contributed one wicket each, Keshav Maharaj two, and Marco Jansen and Wiaan Mulder three.
On a visually appealing pitch, England’s chances of defending the total are slim.
