Kane Williamson, the former captain of New Zealand, did not sell at the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 auction. He will play a new role in the event, though. Earlier today (March 21), Star Sports revealed that Williamson would be joining Shikhar Dhawan and AB de Villiers on a star-studded commentary panel.

Prior to the IPL 2025 auction, Kane Williamson did not stay with his team, the Gujarat Titans (GT), till 2024.
Nonetheless, the 34-year-old has a deal with Karachi Kings to play in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2025, where he will rejoin David Warner, a former IPL teammate.
The IPL will initially collide with the PSL 2025, which begins on April 11. Williamson’s future as a member of the IPL commentary team and his ability to fulfill his PSL contract responsibilities are thus still unknown.
