On Wednesday, April 16, during Match 32 of the current Indian Premier League between the Delhi Capitals and Rajasthan Royals at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, Karun Nair, the hero of the previous game, was dismissed for a three-ball duck after falling just short of the crease at the non-striker’s end. Notably, Karun had just scored an incredible 89 runs off of 40 deliveries.
Abishek Porel’s bat deflected off his leg and sent an inside edge towards backward point. Karun was then sent back after trotting off for the single. The bowler, Sandeep Sharma, received the ball and proceeded to toss it onto the stumps at the non-striker’s end. The hitter barely made it safely, according to replays.

Karun Nair dismissal was DC’s second wicket loss.
The first one was Jake Fraser-McGurk, who opened. The hitter tried for a reckless swing when Jofra Archer’s short-of-a-length delivery rushed onto him. Yashasvi Jaiswal seized a clear-cut chance at extra cover. With Porel taking the lead, DC got off to a great start.
RR won the toss earlier in the evening and chose to field first. Both sides entered this match unaltered. In their last game, DC lost to the Mumbai Indians at home by a score of twelve runs. In contrast, Royal Challengers Bengaluru soundly trounced RR by a score of nine wickets in an afternoon match. In the IPL 2025, DC has won four games, while RR has won two.
