In the 46th IPL 2025 match against the Delhi Capitals (DC), the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) are in major difficulty after losing three early wickets while chasing 163 runs. They had a strong start, but in the third over they lost Jacob Bethell (12 off 6), who was dismissed by a spectacular catch by Karun Nair.
Soon after, captain Axar Patel bowled Devdutt Padikkal for a duck. Rajat Patidar, the captain of the RCB, came in next and appeared to be in form, hitting a boundary off the second ball. His visit was brief, though, as Karun Nair struck the bullseye, sending him back to the pavilion.
Virat Kohli was at the crease, facing Mukesh Kumar, when the event happened on the final delivery of the fourth over. Karun Nair was positioned at mid-wicket, where Kohli hit the ball. Patidar was out of the crease when the fielder caught the ball and threw it to the non-striker’s end. The RCB captain started to sprint but was sent back when Kohli smashed the ball.

But Nair trusted his gut and threw straight at the stumps, and Patidar was unable to reach them in time. Consequently, the right-handed batsman was out for six runs, leaving Kohli looking irritated and powerless.
Kohli and Krunal Pandya are currently looking good with a partnership of 47 runs off 43 balls as of this writing. RCB may avoid their first away loss thanks to their middle-order pairing. There are still several outstanding bats on the club who can complete the innings.
