With 779 runs at an average of 389.50, Vidarbha captain Karun Nair finished as the competition’s top run scorer after an incredible performance in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2024–25. This offered him hope that a nationwide resurgence was within his grasp.
However, Nair’s name was not included in the 15-man BCCI-announced roster for the 2025 Champions Trophy, despite his outstanding performance.
