During the Gujarat Titans vs. Delhi Capitals match in Match 35 of the 2025 Indian Premier League, captain Shubman Gill was dismissed cheaply in the powerplay, dealing the team a serious setback early in their chase. At the Narendra Modi Stadium, the GT captain’s dismissal was among the most disappointing ways to conclude a high-scoring chase against the Delhi Capitals, who were at the top of the league.
Before being dismissed, Shubman Gill had to endure five deliveries, which included some careless running in between the wickets. Sai Sudharsan, his opening partner, stopped the star batter from taking a quick single when he attempted to clip the ball off his pads to mid-wicket. The IPL 2023 Orange Cap winner was ultimately dismissed with a stunning direct shot from Karun Nair, who was only able to score seven runs. Television replay verified that Shubman was short of his ground, but he was not even in the picture.

Given that Gill can alter the outcome of the match if he stays at the crease, this was a crucial wicket for the Capitals.
Speaking to Karun Nair, his contributions went beyond this.
Nair made a respectable cameo of 31 off just 18 deliveries as the game’s opening batsman. Even though Prasidh Krishna eventually got rid of him, his knock was vital in giving the visitors the ideal start.
With top run scorer Sai Sudharsan and Jos Buttler at the bat, the Titans, who are currently 67-1 in 6 overs as of writing, have continued to target the DC spinners despite Gill’s regrettable dismissal. Their powerplay has been excellent thus far, and with batters like Shahrukh Khan and Sherfane Rutherford to follow, the Motera supporters will be hoping they get them closer to the total.
