At the end of the 2025 Indian Premier League, the Delhi Capitals (DC) are in a difficult spot because they need to win every game to qualify for the playoffs. Going into this stage of the tournament, the franchise’s strategies and preparations will be crucial.
DC coach and English cricketing veteran Kevin Pietersen has talked about the strategies and intentions of the Axar Patel-led team, which will be the subject of much discussion. The Englishman talked candidly about the competitive team’s mentality. The 2010 T20 global champion disclosed how his team will prepare for the playoffs, outlining the significance of intelligent pregame practice and the main areas the players need concentrate on before the games.
“I believe that you should practise very, very smartly and make sure that you don’t overlook anything for a game that you’ll play the following day. So, in every game we played, you truly know who you’re up against, and I’ll explain this from the viewpoint of a batter,” Pietersen said on JioHotstar.
“Who will you confront? How will the bowler respond? What will the bowler look like to get you out? Which alternatives do you have for scoring? In which locations are the best places to go? What time do you leave? It’s not a case of doing something and trying something entirely different the next day,” the former DC captain concluded. “Then practice in that way, just make sure that everything you accomplish in the practice field, you can repeat in the centre.”
