When the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) stopped by Salt Lake’s City Centre 1 mall as part of their festive Trophy Tour, excited supporters flocked to see the coveted IPL 2024 trophy.
With the chance to take pictures with the cutlery and take part in fan activities, the event at Kolkata’s top shopping area attracted sizable crowds. As the trophy was put on display, mall patrons showed their joy, enabling supporters of all ages to celebrate the team’s recent victory.
The concluding destination on KKR’s Trophy Tour, which aims to celebrate the team’s third IPL triumph with their fan base across the city, is City Centre 1.
Several famous landmarks in Kolkata were traversed by the celebration on Tuesday as part of the continuing Trophy Tour. The trophy was on display at the Victoria Memorial, a historic marble monument, where the tour started. Along the banks of the Hooghly River, the festivities proceeded to the picturesque Prinsep Ghat after continuing at the Howrah Bridge.
Tournament beginning at Eden: KKR vs. RCB
At the storied Eden Gardens, the Kolkata Knight Riders will play Royal Challengers Bengaluru on March 22 to kick off their IPL 2025 season.
Regarding the forthcoming 2025 edition of KKR, the club has named veteran player Ajinkya Rahane as captain. Having played in the league since its start in 2008, Rahane will now head KKR once more, where the Mumbai batsman would like to help defend the championship. The three-time champions’ vice-captain will be Venkatesh Iyer, a talented all-rounder, in addition to Rahane.
In their first game of the season, the reigning champions will face Royal Challengers Bengaluru. The 18th edition of the lucrative league will begin with RCB playing their rivals at the historic Eden Gardens in Kolkata in the 2025 tournament opener.
