At the team hotel, the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) team, the reigning Indian Premier League (IPL) champions, enthusiastically celebrated the festival of colors and embraced the joyous spirit of Holi.
Taking a respite from their intense preseason training, the players and support staff celebrated Holi in the traditional manner, sharing colors, laughing, and bonding.
KKR celebrities Ajinkya Rahane, Venkatesh Iyer, Rinku Singh, and Angkrish Raghuvanshi were spotted taking part in the celebrations and smearing each other with color in a riot of vibrant hues. Members of the coaching staff, such as head coach Chandrakant Pandit and spin bowling coach Carl Crowe, were also present during the festivities. The happy event demonstrated the team’s close relationship and positive vibes in anticipation of the new season.
KKR wants to win the championship for the second time.
KKR is without a doubt the most successful team in the lucrative league, behind the Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings. Even though CSK and MI have each won five times, KKR has only won three trophies, in 2012, 2014, and 2024. Knight Riders now have the third-most trophies of any team. By defending the IPL championship in the next 2025 season, they hope to boost the ante from the previous one.
The club has discovered a fantastic blend of young and experienced players this time around. The defending champions have named all-rounder Venkatesh Iyer as their vice-captain, while veteran cricketer Ajinkya Rahane has been assigned to lead the team this season.
The Royal Challengers Bengaluru will be the first opponent of the Kolkata Knight Riders in the 2025 Indian Premier League. On Saturday, March 22, the two teams will play their tournament opener at Kolkata’s famous Eden Gardens.
