Spencer Johnson, KKR cricketer, recently revealed which of Jasprit Bumrah and Mitchell Starc’s yorkers he would want to face. Both Bumrah and Starc have a proven track record of executing excellent yorkers and are two of the game’s top exponents when it comes to efficiently employing the specific variation.
Johnson, a left-arm fast who played four IPL 2025 matches for KKR, took part in a rapid-fire round.
His answer to the aforementioned inquiry was Bumrah. In an interview, the left-armer stated that Bumrah’s yorkers were easier to negate than Starc’s.
Be it with the new ball or with the old, Bumrah and Starc have troubled the best of batters by unleashing yorkers at will. Their toe-crushing deliveries make them a valuable asset for any team, especially during the death overs. Plenty of batters have openly admitted how unplayable both the bowlers are when at their peak.
Coming to Johnson’s IPL career, it has not been one to cherish so far. His IPL career started off in 2024 with Gujarat Titans. Entering at a base price of INR 50 lakh, his value shot up to INR 10 crore in the auction. However, his performances were not quite proportionate with the price tag, as he picked four wickets in five matches at an economy rate of 9.43.
