After playing six IPL 2025 games, the Delhi Capitals (DC) are having a great time and are currently ranked first on the IPL 2025 scores table. The players’ performance is excellent because they have only lost one game thus far. To play the Gujarat Titans (GT), the Delhi-based team has travelled to Ahmedabad.
During one of the practice sessions, Shubman Gill had a meaningful conversation with Kevin Pietersen. During their conversation, Pietersen made a light-hearted inquiry regarding the characteristics of a mentor before stating, “No one knows what a mentor is.”
KL Rahul interrupted their talk and surprised everyone by making a sarcastic remark about Pietersen.
In a flash, KL Rahul stated, “Mentor is someone who goes to the Maldives for two weeks mid-season.” Pietersen was standing there, grinning cheekily at Rahul as the players around them started laughing. The players’ talk demonstrated their relationship of camaraderie.
Interestingly, after DC defeated CSK on April 5, the Capitals’ coach travelled to the Maldives in the middle of the season. He came back before the match against Motera, but was unable to play in the following match against RCB on April 10.

DC is close to making the playoffs after winning five of their first six games. The team is performing incredibly well under skipper Axar Patel. Additionally, by making some sort of contribution to practically every game, Axar is leading from the front. The previous time they played the Rajasthan Royals (RR), it was a thrilling match that went into the Super Over and was ultimately won by the home team.
Tristan Stubbs and KL Rahul knocked down the Royals’ meagre 11 runs in the Super Over in just four balls. They temporarily gave up the spot after that victory, but they went up the points table. Axar Patel will be hoping to continue their winning run ahead of their game against the Titans.
