Their pursuit for a playoff slot was eventually hindered by this inconsistency, as they lost a few games from advantageous positions—a genuine testament to cricket’s status as a team sport.

Collectively, we didn’t play well enough. The hitters would not have a good game when the bowlers were on their game. The wicketkeeper-batter said, “We just didn’t come together as much as we would have wanted to.”
